This beautiful hydrangea leaf plate has been hand built form a lump of white low-fired clay. It was slab-rolled, imprinted with a leaf from my hydrangea bush (see photo #5), bisque-fired, glaze-painted by hand, then fired a second time. Measuring about 4 and 1/2 by 6 inches, this flat functional dish would make a perfect soap or jewelry holder, spoon rest, tea light dish...you name it. It is washable and food-safe and has been initialed on the back.

Each a different size and design.

Looks like there used to be an S in red and a P in red on them put time and use have worn them

almost all off. There are also other areas of red on each.

I have not cleaned these so there is a bit of dusty grime in some corners here and there.

Here are two vintage items for your retro kitchen, the Pyrex milk saver and a glass jello mold both of which can still be used today -

The clear pressed glass mould is marked to the brim British Make, it could be used for jello, jelly, blancmange (must be pink!), pate or a terrine, it holds a 1 pint. The pattern on the top is that of scrolled leaves so it could be used for something either sweet or savoury.

The Pyrex Solidex Milk Saver is still in its original box, apparently it stops milk boiling over, and I quote "cocoa, any vegetables, marcaroni" so no more burnt cooker tops - I wish! This was probably the "must have" of the 60s, but I think similar items are still made today, so I suppose it works :)

These are two great vintage kitchen items and are in brilliant condition considering they have been around for 50 years!

A nice little collection of vintage cookie cutters - there is a gingerbread man and his gingerbread wife plus a seated rabbit. The man is 4.5inches (12cms) tall and the lady is a little shorter at 4inches (10cms. The lady is stamped Sweden.

They all have a nice, aged, vintage patina, with a little tarnish and wear. Great items for adding a dash of style to your kitchen or a gift for the cook in your life.

Do you love Vintage Sadler? Then this Hen is for you - Great for lovers of kitsch or retro not only a stylish decorative item for your kitchen, you've somewhere to put your eggs too! This hen sitting on her nest dates to the 1960s and was made at the Sadler factory Stoke-on-Trent. Its very typical of the style of the era, but these hens were first produced in the Staffordshire by the Victorians and were far more colourful.

The pottery is in a lovely mellow, honey gold so won't jar with your colour scheme; altlhough a 1960s piece this would also fit in very nicely with a country or farmhouse kitchen. She is in good, used vintage condition with just a small nick on the rim of the "nest" see the photo, but as its on the back it isn't very noticeable. Approx 7.5inches (19cm) tall from the base to the top of the tail and at the widest point approx. 8inches (20cms).

Here a two English Tala graters, one dates from the 1930/40s the other is a bit later round about the 1950s. They have an aged appearance or patina, some may say rusty and grungy, but they have been around a long time and more to the point have been used! Both are fully marked with the Tala logo, regd. numbers and Made in England.

This painting is in very good condition, It has been in the family since the 1960's. In original frame and hasn't had any restoration done, it may need some cleaning.

Historical Importance - This painting has historical importance for a couple of reasons; 1) The Artist and 2) The Place of Purchase

Firstly this painting (And the other I have) are from the historical T. Eaton Co. Limited in Montreal, Canada. They were purchased in the late 1940's to early 1950's from the picture department and gallery which routinely showcased Canadian artists. The painting has a an old identification tag on the back from the T. Eaton Co. with the number 40038/16. Purchased from a friend of the family in the 1960's.

The Artist -
Captain A.V. (Antun) Seferovitch was commissioned in 1915 to be the first Montenegrin Consul to the United States in New York City. He also served as Canada's first Consul-General of Montenegro in Montreal. This man fought for the rights of Serbia and Montenegro during the first world war, being in his position he had the opportunity to speak out and help those in need. Captain Seferovich even donated his salary to help refugees from his country. Speaking to the Empire Club of Canada in Toronto January 27th, 1916 he is quoted as saying:
"The eagles of Lovtchen have left the rocks: they fly from place to place in search of shelter. But they will return one day again because the Barbarians cannot destroy what God has created, nor can they be masters of the world. Throughout Serbia and Montenegro there are no more smiles and songs of long past wars - so characteristic of our people, but now there is mourning and tears."

This painting of Dolores is part of a series I've been working on for the last few months, inspired by the hilarious positions cats assume when they sleep, and also by their mysterious fascination with anything that looks like a box -- if you love cats, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about...

I've been painting these crazy cats using an electronic drawing tablet and a series of custom brushes I've developed that create a loose, playful watercolor effect. The paintings are then printed on very high quality Epson Radiant White Watercolor Paper, using Ultrachrome archival inks, and then varnished onto a wooden Artist's Panel, so they need no matting or framing--they are ready to be hung "as is," as a single piece or in a grouping with other paintings. This painting of Dolores measures 8" x 10", and the panel is 3/4 inches deep, with the print wrapped around the sides for a gallery wrap effect. I also offer a less expensive option: for $12.00, you can buy the same image, printed on the same watercolor paper, but without the block mount. Convo me if you're interested in this option.
